📦 Buyback Inventory
Track purchased devices from acquisition through to sale.
Viewing Inventory
Go to Buyback in the sidebar to see all purchased devices:
- Device details
- Purchase price
- Current status
- Time in inventory
Inventory Statuses
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| Received | Device purchased, in stock |
| Testing | Being tested/assessed |
| Refurbishment | Repair work in progress |
| Ready | Ready for sale |
| Listed | Listed for sale |
| Sold | Device has been sold |
Adding to Inventory
When you complete a buyback order:
- Device automatically added to inventory
- Status set to "Received"
- Purchase price recorded
Managing Inventory Items
Viewing Details
Click any inventory item to see:
- Full device details
- Purchase information
- Status history
- Refurbishment notes
- Photos
Updating Status
- Open the inventory item
- Change the status
- Add notes (what work was done)
- Save
Recording Refurbishment
Track work done on devices:
- Change status to "Refurbishment"
- Add notes on what's being done
- Record parts used
- Update when complete
Pricing for Resale
Set your resale price:
- Open the inventory item
- Enter Resale Price
- System calculates margin
- Save
Profit Calculation
Resale Price - Purchase Price - Refurbishment Cost = Profit
Track margins across your inventory.
Selling Inventory
When a device sells:
- Create a Sale order
- Link to the inventory item
- Complete the sale
- Inventory status updates to "Sold"
Inventory Reports
View inventory analytics:
- Total stock value
- Average days in inventory
- Margin by device type
- Stock aging
Stock Aging
Monitor how long devices sit in inventory:
| Age | Status | Action |
|---|---|---|
| 0-30 days | Fresh | Price at market |
| 31-60 days | Aging | Consider discount |
| 60+ days | Stale | Reduce price or wholesale |
Write-Offs
For devices that can't be sold:
- Open the inventory item
- Click Write Off
- Select reason (faulty, stolen, etc.)
- Confirm
Device is removed from sellable inventory.
Inventory Search
Find devices by:
- IMEI/Serial
- Model
- Status
- Purchase date
Low Stock Alerts
Get notified when popular models are low:
- Go to Settings → Buyback
- Set minimum stock levels
- Enable notifications
- Receive alerts when stock is low

✅ Do
- Update status as devices move through process
- Record all refurbishment work
- Track time in inventory
- Review aging stock regularly
❌ Don't
- Let devices sit unprocessed
- Forget to update when sold
- Ignore aging inventory
- Skip condition documentation
