RepairMinder supports multiple order types to handle different business scenarios. Each type has its own workflow and default settings.
Available Order Types
🔧 Repair Order
The most common type - used for device repairs.
Typical flow:
- Customer brings in broken device
- Device diagnosed and quoted
- Repair authorized and completed
- Customer collects working device
Features:
- Device tracking with status progression
- Pre/post diagnostic tests
- Warranty tracking
- Parts recording
🛠️ Service Order
For general service work without device tracking.
Use cases:
- Data transfer services
- Software installation
- Consultations
- Training sessions
Features:
- Simplified workflow
- No device intake required
- Flexible line items
🛒 Sale Order
For product sales (accessories, refurbished devices, etc.).
Use cases:
- Selling cases and screen protectors
- Selling refurbished devices
- Accessory sales

- Inventory tracking (optional)
- No repair workflow
- Standard retail flow
♻️ Buyback Order
For purchasing devices from customers.

- Trade-in programs

Default Settings
Each order type can have default settings for:
- Initial status
- Required fields
- Email templates
- Workflow triggers

Changing Order Type
After creation, order type can be changed:
- Open the order
- Click Edit Order
- Change the Order Type
- Save
